AI FoundationsAn AI readiness assessment in 1 to 2 weeks

AI Foundations is a fixed-price AI readiness assessment for UK businesses that make, move and sell products. It costs £1,995, takes 1 to 2 weeks from the kick-off meeting, and you leave with a written report: where AI would help you most, what needs to be in place first, and the first step to take.

The scope is agreed in a short discovery call before we start, so the price does not move. The report is yours to act on, with us or with your own team.

Why we start with the foundations

MIT's 2025 study of enterprise generative AI found that 95% of organisations were getting no measurable return from it. In our experience, the failures rarely come down to the models. They come down to the data, systems and workflows around them, which is what the assessment looks at.

We work with the data, systems and processes at the heart of businesses like yours: buying groups, wholesalers, manufacturers and the brands they supply. That is why the assessment takes 1 to 2 weeks rather than a quarter. We know what the product, price and sales data in your sector looks like, so we spend the time on your business rather than on learning the ground.

What's included

What's included

A discovery call to agree the scope, then a kick-off meeting to start the work. Time with the people who run the processes you want to look at, and a view of the data and systems they use. A written report covering where AI would make the biggest difference for you and where it would not, what to put in place first, and a plan for the first step. A call to walk you through it.

Your questions

How much does an AI readiness assessment cost?

£1,995, fixed. We agree the scope with you in a short discovery call before we start, so the price does not change once the work begins. There is no charge for the call.

How long does it take?

1 to 2 weeks from the kick-off meeting, depending on the scope. We agree the scope and the kick-off date in the discovery call, and the report and walkthrough come at the end. Nothing runs on past two weeks.

What do you need from us?

Time with the people who run the processes you want to look at, plus three things: sample exports of the data, a list of the systems you use, and any process documentation that already exists. Everything else we cover in the discovery call. We work with the systems you already have, and you do not need clean data, a strategy document or an AI project in mind to start.

What happens if we are not ready for AI?

Then the report says so, and sets out what to put in place first. Most of the value of AI comes from the data and workflows around it, so the first step is often a data or workflow fix rather than an AI project. Either way you leave with a plan you can act on.

Who owns the report?

You do. It is written so you can put it into practice with or without us, and it is yours to share with your board, your IT team or another supplier.

What happens after the assessment?

You decide. Some businesses act on the plan with their own team. Others take the first step with a Working Proof, a fixed-price sprint for £1,995 that builds your idea on something real from your business in 1 to 2 weeks.

Proof

For Caterforce, a foodservice buying group, AI now matches 95% of products from 190 suppliers automatically, and managing promotions takes 11 days of labour out of each month. See the case study.

For Stratton Craig, a proof of concept used AI to read 876 pages of its copy, scoring each for readability, emotion, communication style and personality. See the case study.
